Workspace Mirror syncs your Persistent Workspace, including eligible task workspaces. It doesn’t change what persists — it changes where you can access it from.

Overview

By default, your SYMI workspace lives on the platform. Workspace Mirror extends it to an enrolled computer, keeping both copies in sync in both directions:
  • Files SYMI creates or updates appear in a local folder on your computer.
  • Files you edit locally are picked up and reflected back in SYMI’s workspace.
This is useful when you want to work on SYMI’s output in your own tools — opening a generated file in a local editor, for example — without manually exporting and re-uploading each time.

Connecting a computer

Enrollment happens through the Computers panel in SYMI. You generate a short-lived, single-use enrollment code, install the client on the computer you want to connect, and enter the code when the setup command prompts for it. The client installs to its own private location and uses a separate profile, so it won’t interfere with a personal SYMI installation on the same machine.
Enrollment codes are single-use and expire quickly. If a code doesn’t work, request a new one rather than reusing an old one.
Once connected, a background process watches for changes on both sides — you don’t need to keep the browser open for sync to keep working. For the full install and enrollment walk-through — including CLI commands, service management, and troubleshooting — see Set up Workspace Mirror.

What gets synchronized

Workspace Mirror exposes your available workspace roots — for example, your main agent workspace, along with any eligible task workspaces. Each root maps to its own local folder, so files with the same name in different projects don’t collide. You can also request a ZIP download of a workspace root directly from the panel, if you just want a one-time snapshot rather than an ongoing sync.

How conflicts and deletions are handled

Workspace Mirror doesn’t just blindly copy files — it reconciles changes on both sides, which means it has sensible answers for the tricky cases:
  • Both sides changed the same file. Workspace Mirror keeps both versions rather than silently choosing one and discarding the other, so you don’t lose work.
  • A file was deleted on the server. Instead of immediately deleting your local copy for good, Workspace Mirror moves it to a local Mirror trash, so it’s recoverable if the deletion wasn’t what you expected.
  • You made local edits while offline. When your computer reconnects, Workspace Mirror reconciles whatever changed while it was disconnected — you don’t need to manually resolve every file.

Managing connected devices

The Workspace Mirror panel shows your connected devices and their status (connected or offline). From there you can:
  • Disconnect a device temporarily — this pauses synchronization without removing anything, and reconnecting picks up where it left off.
  • Revoke a device — this is the stronger action, and prevents that device from syncing again until it’s re-enrolled with a fresh code.
If you’re setting up a new computer and something seems off with enrollment, requesting a fresh code and re-enrolling won’t delete your existing local files — they’re simply reconciled against the current workspace state.
